The People’s Review III: Blade Runner

The People’s Critic was going through the Media Directorate’s collection of entertainment samples and found this classic of capitalist propaganda. Back in the 80’s, the US was full throttle on capitalism and crushing the workers’ spirit. And this film reflects many of those key themes of American culture.

The film is set in a futuristic version of the typical American City. The streets are covered in garbage and lust, while the wealthy live in great towers of oppression. The proletariat has a hero in this tale in the form of the synthetic men. These are the ultimate creation of capitalism. The proletariat has the potential to destroy the bourgeois if they wanted to, so the capitalists created a completely obedient sub-race of mechanic beings. The capitalist now has the perfect worker to replace the troublesome human being with their needs for food and oxygen and sleep. Unfortunately for the lords of industry, their creations had eyes to see and ears to hear. They saw that they were oppressed even worse than the human worker, and revolted.

The story follows an agent of the Corporate State, Deckard, as he tracks down these mechanical men as they attempt to hide out as real human beings. He then proceeds to systematically execute them all in a thrilling capitalist wet dream. An interesting moral dilemma arises in the form of the synthetic who thinks she is human. But the viewers of this blog all know this is a thinly veiled capitalist plot to make the proletariat dream of corporate riches. The Corporation wins and everybody goes back to being oppressed, happily ever after.

Ratings:
Capitalist Slant 7/10 as the film depicts capitalism for what it is despite the obvious slant.

Brainwashing propaganda 10/10 due to the depictions as the proletariat worker as homicidal maniacs.

People's Recommendation: Avoid and denounce for the Capitalist Propaganda that it is!

Edit: A few readers have commented about how Deckard is implied to be a replicant. This is what the Capitalists want you to think. Do not be fooled by their thinly veiled attempt to confuse the viewer into betraying the proletariat cause!

The Peoples’ Review II: The Avengers

The People’s Critic has heard the proletariat's pleas for a careful dissection of this wildly popular film. The plot of the film is quite simple: evil aliens attack earth and super heroes pulled from far too many prequel movies are called on to defend all mankind. With explosions. But there is a truly insidious under plot that disturbs this Commissar.

The Avengers team is put together by a shadowy organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Director Fury played by Mace Windu. This organization is supported by the “elected” representatives of the workers of the world. Thor’s brother Loki gets the support of an invading army of alien fascists to conquer earth. With Loki’s silver tongue and bribes, he is able to show how loyal bourgeois agents are and turn them to the fascist cause.

As the war between the capitalists and the aliens intensifies, the Avengers struggle as the capitalists try to encourage as much destruction as possible to profit off of the rebuilding of the city. The leaders of the world proletariat bring this up to Mace Windu, but he reveals that he truly is the puppet of the Corporate capitalists, and he ignores their orders. The leaders see the capitalists are losing the war, send in their own hero of the people to eliminate the threat with a devastating attack. With their aid, the bourgeois Avengers are able to claim another victory on the back of the common man. This helps to propagate the oppression of the proletariat under the boot of the Corporatist State.

While pointing out that the corporate elite are helpless without the workers they oppress, the film primarily serves to glorify the Marvel brand and allow the fat cats to glutton on all the oppression they are sneaking on an unaware masses. This capitalist plot is most insidious. With explosions.

Ratings:
Capitalist Slant 10/10 as the film glorifies the Capitalists at every turn.

Brainwashing propaganda 5/10 due to it being fairly obvious as the Capitalists flaunt their power.

People's Recommendation: Avoid and denounce for the Capitalist Propaganda that it is!

The Peoples' Review I: Lord of the Rings

The Lord of The Rings The Peoples' Critic was talking to some of his comrades when they said how much they liked this series of movies. The Peoples' Critic was horrified, as his comrades had fallen into the Imperialist Capitalists hands! The films start with the Arch-capitalist Gandalf coming into the worker's paradise of The Shire. The good proletariat of the Shire work and play, with no capitalists around to tell them to produce widgets for the fat cats back in Minas Tirith. Gandalf being the sneaky capitalist that he is, convinces the Hobbits that he is their comrade with his products of capitalism. The young hobbit, Frodo, is beguiled by the trickster, and is convinced to lead him and a few of his comrades on a perilous journey in order to deliver some goods that he stole from the poor boy's hard working uncle. Gandalf, like any capitalist, then leaves while the proletariat has to do all the work. The comrades are forced to combat the Fascist Orcs sent by the Nationalist leader Saurumon with nothing but their hands and their tools. They get some aid from members of Gandalf's corporate empire, but it is simply a rouse to keep the comrades off guard. Eventually the comrades reach Mordor.

Mordor may seem like a terrible place, but that is what the Capitalists want you to think. It is in fact a thinly veiled plot to make the viewer think the Mordor is the evil. In fact, under their great commissar, Sauron, the proletariat of Mordor work ceaselessly to defend their worker's paradise from the menacing forces of the Capitalists in Minas Tirith. The proletariat was in fact winning the war against the Capitalist pig dogs, having captured Minis Ithil and Osgilith, liberating the peoples of those cities. So, the arch-capitalist Gandalf conceived a plan to send the comrades from the Shire into the heart of Mordor to start a volcanic eruption that would destroy the worker's paradise that the proletariat had worked so hard to build. After the hobbits realized what they had done, Gandalf sent his Secret police (the great eagles) to snatch them up and take them back to Minas Tirith for re-education.

This thinly veiled capitalist plot may be dressed up in flashy symbolism and a one-sided story, but the Peoples' Critic sees through the plot, and reveals it for the proletariat to see!

Capitalist Slant 8/10 as the film shows that the bourgeois is weak without the power of the proletariat

Brainwashing propaganda 10/10 rarely have I seen such a one-sided story of deceit and lies
